Nomination Process
Applications for the Rising Stars in Mechanical Engineering are officially open! The workshop will take place October 23-24, 2025. Applicants must be nominated by a faculty member in their current department. Eligible participants must:
- be women graduate students within 1-2 years of graduating with a Ph.D. at the time of the workshop OR
- be women Ph.D holders who have obtained a Ph.D. no earlier than 3 years prior to the workshop AND
- not currently hold a faculty position
Application Deadline: July 25th, 2025 (11:59 PM EST)
Application Instructions
Faculty should use the application form below to submit nominations to the 2025 Rising Stars in Mechanical Engineering Workshop at MIT. Approximately 30 candidates will be selected for inclusion in the program.
Please ensure you upload the following documents as part of your nomination:
- The applicant’s personal statement describing their professional goals, motivations for pursuing them, and why they’re interested in attending the Rising Stars Workshop (max. 1 page in PDF form)
- The applicant’s Curriculum Vitae (CV) in PDF form (no page limit)
- Nomination letter from the faculty nominator (max. 1 page in PDF form)
